Namacheko
Namacheko was founded by Iraqi Kurdistan-born Sweden-raised siblings Dilan and Lezan Lurr in 2017. With a long-time interest in fashion and tailoring, the two designers taught themselves patternmaking through British and Italian designers. While doing a small film project, the two created costumes which were showcased at an event where no one showed up except for world-renowned Parisian boutique The Broken Arm, who from there bought their entire collection. Their lineups are heavily inspired by their cultural backgrounds, using elements from traditional garments and imagery from memories of the countries they’re from.
