Athletic footwear brand Reebok was established in England in 1900 by 19-year-old Joseph William Foster, who had started designing some of the earliest spiked running shoes five years prior. The brand was later discovered by American businessman Paul Fireman who was working for sports teams. Fireman distributed Reebok across the US, and by the 1980s they reached nearly $2 million in sales. After many professional athlete endorsements, implementation of new technology, fashion brand collaborations, and the expansion to different designs for different sports, Reebok has become one of the most well-known athletic companies in the world.
