SKOOT is a brand that fuses hip-hop and goth punk with anime-inspired graphics, creating a unique worldview. We report on their first pop-up store in Japan, which was a huge success with many celebrities in attendance.
This time, the POP-UP STORE will focus on Korean brands as NUBIAN WOMENS, and will feature six brands alongside various other brands from August 24th to September 1st. SKOOT will be held for 10 days from August 24th to September 1st. The reception party was held at the Shibuya store the day before, and the after party at CLUB RAISE.
Many artists and models attended the reception party, including Katei, imma, HINA, ELLY, and Novel Core. MLMA, a multi-talented designer and artist, also came to Japan for the pop-up store and spray-painted for visitors. In addition, N², SUNNY ONLY1, and MANON, whose Y2K style is popular among the younger generation, were invited as DJs to liven up the venue with music. ASH ISLAND performed at the after-party. Many people gathered at the venue, and his partner Chanmina also attended. It was a special night of enjoying music.
To commemorate the event, special items were also created. These unisex items include exclusive T-shirts with the SKOOT and NUBIAN logos, and rabbit charms in limited edition colors. Inside the store, which is filled with the brand's worldview, a life-sized doll of MLMA, created for the POP-UP STORE, and a photo machine where you can take photos, were installed, creating a unique photo booth that became a hot topic.
Drop Tokyo, a media outlet that delivers real street trends, covered the reception party and also filmed a valuable interview video with designer MLMA, catching the background to the brand's establishment and a message to fans.
