Japanese graphic designer Tatsuro Horikawa launched his first clothing collection under the brand name Julius in 2005. With an intense passion for techno music, Horikawa found that the clothing in this scene were mainly graphic t-shirts. Feeling dissatisfied with the lack of expression from these pieces, he started designing uniforms for these artists. Years later Julius was born as a lineup of dark and monochromatic pieces, oversized and draping silhouettes, and distressed yet sophisticated tailoring, with a modern bohemian feel. Now with stores in Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hongkong Julius has become a global success, with fans from all over the world travelling to see the clothing in person.
