MISSING SINCE THURSDAY (MST) was founded by designers ScumbagChad and RighteousP in 2016. They draw inspiration from all genres of music, including rock bands from the "Crust Punk" subgenre of punk rock that emerged in the UK in the early 1980s, nostalgic musicians, and cult films.
Specializing in patchwork, the brand's "whiskey denim" launched in 2020 sparked controversy over the patchwork content*. Traditionally, crust punk pants were generally made with rock band designs in patchwork, which drew a lot of criticism. However, the design was highly praised and became a popular item with many copies produced.
* Punk-style stitching and textures are topped with colorful images of cult classic films and nostalgic hip-hop groups and musicians, including Erykah Bado, a representative artist of the neo-soul era, a music genre of the mid-1990s.
