The 3rd drop of "mononoke・made," a project by world-renowned artist Takashi Murakami and READYMADE / ©SAINT Mxxxxxx designer Yuta Hosokawa, will be released on Saturday, August 29th, at store opening times at the Harajuku, Shibuya, and Toranomon stores. It will then be released on the online store the following week, Saturday, September 5th, at 10:00 AM.
This collection features Takashi Murakami's representative works "Flower," "Cherry Blossom," and "Fujin Raijin Maiko." Each artwork, with its different background and story, has been reinterpreted by mononoke・made and translated into products.
This collection includes six types of items: original mock-neck T-shirts, double-faced zip hoodies, M-65 based jackets, reversible Sukajan jackets, and caps. Treating the front, back, and sleeves as a single canvas, the collection expresses a unique worldview by meticulously focusing on graphic placement, embroidery, printing, and coloring.
One item that stands out in the collection is the reversible SKA JAMBER. Takashi Murakami's "Fujin Raijin Maiko" is expressed on quilted fabric. On the reverse side, a dragon drawn by Yuta Hosokawa himself, based on "Azure Dragon," is placed on the back, and Takashi Murakami's skull is expressed with embroidery. It is a striking piece that symbolizes the intersection of both artists' art and craft.
Furthermore, the M65 JACKET features original buttons made of SILVER 925. Vintage tent fabric is used for the hood and lining, and hand-distressing and oil-finishing techniques are applied to achieve Yuta Hosokawa's unique rugged vintage aesthetic.
