The brand was founded with the concept of "spreading the stories of African-Americans who were subject to black slavery." The theme of the brand's 2021 fall/winter collection is "African-American slavery, which began in 1619," raising the issue of the fact that African-Americans were forced to pick cotton, which was the main labor at the time.
