PORT TANGER is a London-based eyewear brand that was founded in 2020, inspired by the vibrant streets of Tangier, a cosmopolitan port city in Morocco.
The project was overseen by creative director Bilal Fellah, with his wife Bibi Borthwick in charge of visuals and design.
And for each pair of eyewear, Bibi's father, photographer Mark Borthwick, has written a poem, expressing the unique story behind each style. All products are manufactured in Japan, with frames made of high-quality acetate and 100% UV-resistant nylon lenses. The sides of the temples are engraved with a motif made up of six dots that represent "nostalgia," "tradition," "craftsmanship," "hope," "design," and "culture."
