A new project, "mononoke・made," has been launched by world-renowned artist Takashi Murakami and Yuta Hosokawa, designer of READYMADE / ©SAINT Mxxxxxx.
The 1st COLLECTION will be released on Saturday, April 4th, at store opening times at the Harajuku, Shibuya, and Toranomon stores. It will be available on the online store from 10 AM on Saturday, April 11th.
mononoke・made is not merely a collaboration, but rather a culmination of the deep trust and essential creative dialogue built over many years between the two artists, stemming from their first encounter in 2018. This project took approximately two years to create, from conception to completion.
The commemorative first release features a full lineup, including a varsity jacket, which symbolizes this collection with motifs of Takashi Murakami's "Cherry Blossom" and "Skull," as well as T-shirts, hoodies, and sweatpants adorned with "Flowers," and sweatshirts featuring "Azure Dragon" and "White Tiger."
For this project, many artworks from Takashi Murakami, including famous flowers and DOB, as well as those that have never before been released as apparel products, have been incorporated. Hosokawa has meticulously worked on these valuable artworks, focusing on every detail of material, structure, stitching, and processing. Through repeated prototyping, these works have been elevated into three-dimensional products. This is the first time that Takashi Murakami's art has been interpreted so freely and boldly into apparel, making mononoke・made a pioneer. It achieves both artistic value and the perfection of products worn daily, truly becoming "wearable art."
The items to be released include a diverse lineup, primarily apparel such as T-shirts and hoodies, as well as accessories like belts and wallet chains. Don't miss out on future updates.

The ephemeral beauty and exhilaration of cherry blossoms in full bloom, different from the eternal nature of "O-hana," reflect the Japanese aesthetic of "Sakura" blooming and scattering in a short period. The skull evokes Memento Mori (Remember Death) and for Murakami, also includes the image of Japan's defeat in war. Furthermore, the all-over composition of aggregated skulls contains elements of abstract expressionism.
