The FW24 2nd delivery of "MASU" by Shinpei Goto is now on sale. The collection "Falling Rain said Yes to the Boy" was held on the runway for the first time in Paris, and attracted even more attention from around the world.
The collection includes a leather jacket made from thick goat leather and decorated with a spider web-like motif made by combining several types of chains, as well as a cardigan featuring an embroidered angel, the brand's icon, subtly embodying the brand's identity.
The denim series "MASU BOYS" features a graphic of angel wings scattered by laser bleaching. Jackets, bell bottoms, and baggy silhouette denim are available, incorporating the brand's originality while following vintage elements.
As part of the collaboration, they have developed products with graphic artist "VERDY". The lineup includes a vest with his original graphics of "balloons flying upside down", "MASU BOYS", "NEVER LAND" and "SWEET DREAMS" in three dimensions using jacquard weaving, as well as a collaboration sandal with "SUBU" released last season.

FALL WINTER 2024 COLLECTION
falling rain said yes to the boy
- MASU has always had an eye on the view of the ancestors inherent in society and people. Designer Goto continues to focus on the changing consciousness caused by the trends of the times, the shift of generations, and changes in lifestyle. For example, Goto sometimes sees the figure of an angel in the flapping of a bat's wings, and finds a unique beauty in an uneaten cake. His statement is realized by infusing his collection with "true feelings that are not spoken out loud." Goto likens it to "the sight of water droplets on a spider's web after the rain sparkling in the light, even if you feel that it is "cute" or "beautiful" and are touched by it, but most people would not tell their partner walking next to them," Goto said, expressing his interest in the ordinary feelings that everyone may keep secret in their loneliness. "Maybe the child will say what he or she really thinks. I say it too," he continued, laughing. With a more introverted atmosphere than ever before, Autumn/Winter 2024 is composed of open and light stories brought about by empathy. In the collection, with its clear appearance and subtlety, you can find the shapes and cuts of the bat, where sharpness and roundness coexist. From the collar and neck of the classic Chesterfield coat, to the hemlines of the long raincoats and chaps in water-repellent materials, to the hoods of the detachable collar-type hoods and double-faced sports jackets in suit fabrics with crashed hems, or the contours of the leather vests. Wounds and pain are also metaphors. The holes in the cap cut out like fangs are decorated with rhinestones, the satin down jacket is inspired by bandages, the jacket has studs like scabs that cover the wounds, and the damaged torso is adorned with rhinestones. Furthermore, the signal that "loneliness" and "beauty" are not antagonistic evokes a quiet and illustrative scene. For example, the stains left by rain or rain are linked to the studs on the shoulders of the double-faced coat and the countless holes laser-cut into the leather jacket, and the rain on the ground may appear to soak into the long sweatshirt skirt. The spider web hanging over the shoulder is expressed with an elegant chain, and the spider web graphics shining in the morning sun are flocked and inkjet printed. The graphic of the balloons flying upside down was drawn by VERDY, and the several patches of the same fabric attached to the stadium jacket and traditional tweed jacket function as a symbol of "a quiet assertion that is hard to see". The symbolic leather cake bag is also a treasure box that contains future happiness. And the bold "kirakira" that comes to life in the dark color tones expresses MASU's identity as it is. On the runway, Goto's imagined "dark heroes" strolled. They are not weak or intelligent, but compassion and a gentle gaze are their weapons. The collection is rich in a variety of approaches to vintage with a Japanese sensibility, but it is also a challenge to the essential "affirmation" that brings new empathy with people by "looking back at various things that are prejudiced with images of darkness, dirt, and sadness, and reminding us of things that have become so ingrained in our daily lives that they have been forgotten." It's rainy but cute. It's lonely but beautiful. It paradoxically affirms things that seem contradictory.
